Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene or Cycolac® brandIn stock we carry Natural and Black ABS Rod and ABS SheetThe machine grade (0.125" - 6.0") is smooth on both sides and is either Black or Natural (straw-tan-ivory-beige). Material is easily cut with common cutting tools, can be machined similar to woods or soft metals (brass), CNC machining is appropriate. FDA approved for use in food processing applications. Material can be bonded with solvents or attached to itself with ultra-sonic or heat welding methods. Can be sanded, drilled, and worked like a hard wood.
Delrin®, Co-Polymer, Homo-polymer, Celcon®, BASF All Are P.O.M. (PolyOxyMethylene)Stocked in Sheet-Sheets, Rod-Rods, Block, Strip and SlabThis material is used frequently in a self lubricating bearing surface or slide type applications. Extremely low water absorption makes this a perfect material for valves, seats and moving parts in water filled areas (many white valve parts in toilet tanks are made of Acetal). Crisp machining and tight tolerances are easily obtainable with these materials.
PolyMethylMethAcrylate(AKA: PMMA, or Trade names: Lucite, Optix, Acrylite)This material is used frequently in skylights, towel holder, bank glazing, aircraft canopies, shelves and numerous display applications. Great material for producing small panels to large signs, bent parts, vacuum formed parts and bonded or glued boxes. Bonds can be made with solvent cements and will yield crystal clear joints. A widely used and manufactured material, and called by many trade names, such as: Acrylite, Optix, Lucite, Plex.
Various Plastics with additives or fillers to add levels of conductivityThese materials are frequently in sensitive electronic and spark sensitive applications such as: hard drive and memory fixtures, computer work surfaces, parts moving systems and chemical storage areas.
HIS, Poly-StyreneThis material is a very common and widely used material. In a expanded or foamed form, it is known as Styrofoam. The inside wall surfaces in your refrigerator, the 8" x 12" signs (like 'For Sale' or 'Garage Sale') are normally Styrene. It is one of the most popular rigid surfaces for the silk screening, printing and die cutting industries. It forms beautifully, and can be painted, sanded and processed to make prototype parts quickly.
Paper Base, Canvas, Linen Phenolic, G-10 Epoxy, G-10 FR4These materials were invented by Dr. Leo Baekeland in 1907, and is claimed to be the first synthetic thermoset plastic material, and was first called Bakelite. Several other base and resin materials are also available; Polyester, Melamine, Nylon and more. A high temperature resistant material used in numerous applications for over 100 years. Other laminate trade names: Phenolic, Micarta, Phenolfab, Phenolkraft, Ryertex, Garolite, Ryertex, Spauldite and Texolite.
PPO - Modified PolyPhenyleneOxide Stocked as Noryl Rod® and Noryl Sheet®This material is used frequently in fluid handling applications due to the very low moisture absorption. Noryl is similar to Acetal and PET but carries a better UL rating. Noryl Rods and Noryl Sheets are available from stock. It is great for electrical applications requiring high dielectric strength. This is a trade name of Sabic Plastics (formerly GE Plastics).
AKA: Polyhexamethylene Adiptimide and Polycaprolactam (Cast)Type 6, Type 6/6, Type 6/12 - Sheet and RodThis material is used frequently in a self lubricating bearing surface or slide type applications. Resistant to most common chemicals. One of the most popular work horse materials of the mechanical plastics family. Used in Food Processing, Automotive, Fluid Handling, Electronics and Mining applications. Other brand or trade names for Type 6/6 and Type 6: Vekton®, Unipa®, Tecast®, Nyoil®, Tecamid®, Sustamid®, Capron®, Nylatron®, Ensilon®, and Zytel®. Is Nylon a Plastic…yes, one of the most common plastic materials available.
PolyEtherEtherKetonePEEK is a highly crystalline thermoplastic with excellent properties making it an ideal material for medical, electrical and electronic industries. Also makes great pump, compressor, valve seat, and housing applications. Rated as 'Best' or nearly the best in all mechanical properties of plastic materials. It carries UL 94-V-0 flammability rating and is FDA approved for food contact. VICTREX® is the leading supplier of this specialty resin, although the name PEEK is the generic for the resin. This range of materials also includes: Avaspire PAEK and PEKK grades which offer similar but improved property ranges in either impact, heat or stress applications.
Co-Polyester Sheet - Vivak® - Spectar® (Searching for PET / PBT Polyester Sheet instead)PETG is a plastic resin of the polyester family that is used to make thermoforming applications. PETG is a clear resin that can be extruded into sheet. One of the most common applications of this plastic is in POP displays.
